Vision

Vision

Welcome to our resource page for our teaching series called "Vision."

During this four-week series we will be looking at who Calvary has been in the past and where we believe God is calling us to focus as we move into the future. As we celebrate our 60th Anniversary as a church, we will be discussing what it looks like to "live in community," "experience change," and "lead transformation."

Check out the resources listed below!

A Church Called Tov

Book: A Church Called Tov

In their book, A Church Called Tov: Forming a Goodness Culture That Resists Abuses of Power and Promotes Healing, authors Scot McKnight and Laura Barringer explore the concept of tov (the Hebrew word for "good") - unpacking its richness and how it can help Christians and churches rise up to fulfill their true calling as imitators of Jesus. Learn more about A Church Called Tov here.

Book: Life Together

Book: Life Together

In his book Life Together: The Classic Exploration of Christian Community, Dietrich Bonhoeffer gives practical advice on how life together in Christ can be sustained in families and groups. The role of personal prayer, worship in common, everyday work, and Christian service is treated in simple words. Life Together is bread for all who are hungry for the real life of Christian fellowship. You can find out more about Life Together here.

Growth Guide

Growth Guide

We are excited about changing lives and transforming communities in our homes, city, and world. Change and transformation toward spiritual growth is a life-long journey and we want to provide resources along the way. Our Calvary's Staff has created a digital resource called the Growth Guide which includes a spiritual self-assessment and potential next steps for each person to take. You can find the Growth Guide on our website.
