Then Pilate took Jesus and had him scourged. And the soldiers wove a crown out of thorns and placed it on his head,
and clothed him in a purple cloak, and they came to him and said,”Hail, King of the Jews!” And they struck him
repeatedly. (John 19:1-3)
So he delivered him over to them to be crucified. So they took Jesus, and he went out, bearing his own cross, to the place called The Place of a Skull, which in Aramaic is called Golgotha. There they crucified him, and with him two others, one on either side, and Jesus between them.(John 19:16-18)
And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” (Luke 23:34)
Jesus’ suffering and death makes a way for our forgiveness. Contemplate the cost to Him of grace to us.
