The Operation Christmas Child (OCC) Team of Calvary Church is thrilled to invite you to our Calvary Church Packing Party on Sunday, November 10th, starting at 1:30 PM. Packing parties are a fun, hands-on event for all ages, and we can’t wait for you to join us!
This year, we are partnering with several ministries—Encore, Next Chapter, Threads of Hope, Small Groups, and Kids and Student Ministries—to make this Packing Party a huge success. These ministries are all about doing life together, growing together, and serving together. And what better way to serve than by packing shoeboxes that will bring hope and the message of Jesus to children around the world?
So, what’s a Packing Party like?
It is a fun, interactive event where everyone can participate. Here’s how it works:
1. Collect items: Before the party, we ask everyone to contribute supplies for the shoeboxes. These items are organized into categories such as:
- Wow items (dolls and soccer balls with pumps)
- Personal care (toothbrushes and brushes & combs)
- School supplies (rulers and solar calculators)
- Toys & games (puzzles and stickers)
- Clothing & accessories (socks, hats, and watches)
2. We encourage you to purchase these items in bulk—not just for one shoebox, but to fill many!
3. Pack the shoeboxes: At the party, each person will receive a shoebox and select an age group (2-4, 5-9, 10-14) and gender (boy or girl). Then, you will “shop” from the various tables of items to pack your shoebox.
4. Personalize your box: Adding a personal touch to each shoebox is a great way to show the children who receive them that they are loved. When children receive their shoebox, it’s not just a gift—they are also invited to participate in a 12-week Bible study that introduces them to the Gospel.
How can you help?
We’re asking each ministry to help collect specific items for the Packing Party. These items can be dropped off at the Big Desk or given to the OCC Table on Sundays leading up to the event.
Our goal for November 10th is to pack 500 shoeboxes!
It’s going to be a fantastic day of fellowship and service, and we would love for you to be a part of it.
