These words from Paul were meant to provide encouragement to the believers of Thessalonica but are equally significant today. Join us for a 12 week look into both letters, 1 and 2 Thessalonians, to discover what God has to say to encourage us in our current world. We’ll be using the ESV Scripture Journal for 1-2 Thessalonians which allows readers to take notes or record insights directly beside corresponding passages of Scripture. Discussion-based class | bring your Bible

Recovering from the Losses of Life - Meets September 2-December 9

Facilitated by: Joyce Crangle
Additional Cost: Pre-Purchase Book ISBN 0800731557

Jesus prepares us for life change and loss in John 16:33 In this life you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world. Join us as we walk through the valleys of loss and trials to grow deeper in love and intimacy with our Lord and Savior. As we consider God's perspective of life, we will find the anchor: the love and faithfulness of Jesus Himself. We will learn to stand on His truth to resist the pull toward despair as we gain tools to work through loss and come out a stronger, faith-filled person.  Homework: 45-60 min per week

Instructing a Child’s Heart - Meets September 30-December 9 (not meeting 10/21, 11/18, 11/25)

Facilitated by: Mary Brandlen
Instructing a Child’s Heart | ISBN: 0981540007

Learn to train your child’s heart, not their behavior! Join us as we read and discuss Instructing a Child’s Heart. Together, we will discover the importance of impressing truth, God’s Word and God‘s ways, on the hearts of our children. Our purpose is not to control or manage them, but to point them to the greatest joy and happiness that they can experience — delighting in God and the goodness of His ways. Homework: 1.5-2 hours per week
