Psalm 34:2-3
My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together!
This is a beautiful encouragement to join with others and exalt the Lord together! What does that look like for you? We have an opportunity to do just this every time we gather for worship and yet so often, we take it for granted. When we are together, we are able to not only praise the Lord for what he has done in our own lives, but also for what he has done in the lives of those around us. The perspective we gain when we exalt the name of the lord together is one of great breadth because we continue to understand the power of our God. He is big enough to deliver us when we fear him, to keep us from speaking evil, to deliver the righteous who cry out for help, and to hold us upright as we turn from evil and do good. These are all pictures that Psalm 34 paints for us and they all give reason to individually and collectively magnify and exalt the name of the Lord!
