Anticipate that Christ will Prepare the Way

“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.”
(John 14:3 ESV).

Before Christ left them, he told his disciples that he would prepare a place for them to follow him. However, he doesn’t say that they must follow him on their own. Rather, he will return and bring them to him. Do we anticipate that Christ has already prepared the way for us to follow him? Often times it feels like culture is going south, the way is messy, and we are all alone. But Jesus has promised to have already created the path and will walk the path with us.

Action: Reflect this week on your last month. Where did faith ask you to move? Where is it clear now that Jesus was at work preparing the path and direction for you? Ask God for confidence in the future to trust him in the confusing and frustrating.
